IT and Cable Managers
Build, Move, Adds & Changes
IT and facility managers are often tasked with relocating departments. A clear understanding of the new building's cabling infrastructure and proper project management of the communications implementation is critical to the success of any project.
IT and facilities managers overseeing relocation projects often encounter:
- Cabling infrastructure that isn't capable of supporting the tenant's ever-evolving Local/Wide Area Networks and Voice Over IP technologies.
- Shortage of resources to coordinate/attend meetings between end-users and IT staff or interface with multiple telcos, cabling contractors, electrical trades, and PWGSC project managers.
- Shortage of staff with the skill sets necessary to liase with telco engineers and contractors and propose alternative solutions where applicable.
The Attain Group works with IT managers, facilities managers and cable plants to ease some of the burden by planning, coordinating, and project managing telecommunications system builds, moves, and upgrades for tenants.
The Attain Group will:
- Document functional requirements and prepare scope of work.
- Recommend a telecommunications strategy and provide a lifecycle plan for 5-25 years.
- Design the telecommunications infrastructure, providing detailed drawings in CADD format and ensuring that the design meets all applicable codes and standards.
- Prepare RFP documents, evaluate tender responses and inspect work throughout project to ensure compliance.
- Project-manage all telecommunications-related construction and commissioning.
- Provide a detailed equipment record for ongoing telecom infrastructure management both wired and wireless.
- Provide technical interface between facilities and IT department.
- Provide records management services and/or software on an ongoing basis as required.
